Just to get some discussion and community spirit going.
What's your favorite band?
Mine is Pearl Jam, easily.
Breaking Benjamin comes in second.

Duran Duran's a weird pick... Any particular reason why?

jayvee, dude I love Duran Duran.
When I go on American Idol, I'm going to redeem New Wave Music for heterosexual men everywhere.

The Who, U2, The Eagles, Styx, Johnny Cash, Queen, Aerosmith, Foreigner... can't really think of anything else at the moment... classic rock mainly. I was born in the wrong decade. But new stuff can be cool if it tries hard enough.

New Wave Music for the Hetero Man Everywhere...
First word that comes to mind: Yikes.
Second word: Goldmine.
That's funny, though. I like a few of their songs but I don't dare tell my Slipknot-loving friends.

I don't think you'll have to worry about it, I'm like the most tone deaf person ever.
sara--I love U2 also, mostly their older stuff. The new stuff isn't doing much for me. But i do totally respect Bono and I hope I can be an artist with a social conscience like him.

Kibblesmith,
Did you ever see the movie COFFEE & CIGARETTES?
Tom Waits has a skit in it where he and Iggy Pop are sitting around in a diner talking about the universe and Tom is a really, super mean jerk to Iggy--who play's Waits' whipping boy pretty well, to tell you the truth. But, I guess, that might just be Tom Waits.

Nolan~> U2's first single, Out of Control=One of my favorite songs EVER! And their old stuff IS awesome. I don't know though, can't help but love their latest album, what with the "Uno, Dos, Tres, Catorce" "one, two, three, forteen". I don't know if you know what I'm talking about, but in case you do... yeah I like it. So much so that I saw them in concert last year for the Vertigo tour.
Bono is a different kind of artist... I admire that you aspire to be like that.

Sara, post your online comic in the finished work section. I think I lost the link.
I want to try and be an artist who makes the world better. But theres always the risk of becoming preachy with that.

But theres always the risk of becoming preachy with that. I don't think there's anything wrong in trying to make an effort to make the world a better place when you leave it than the way you found it when you got here. It's all in how you go about it and how you treat others while you're doing it.
