Some of you may know me as Godfather at Newsarama. I don't know that I'll be scripting any comic type stuff anytime soon, as real life has me insanely busy and what little writing I have been able to do is for either a novel or screenplays.
But, I'm always willing to workshop and I do have plans to some day soon, write comics. I think the best thing a writer can have is a good group of people to workshop with. I sort of took the reigns of A Thread for Writers, but I think that just got a little too big for its own good because new people are too scared to jump into a thread thats 20 pages long.
A little about myself. My name is Mike Martin, or Mike.M (elite designer name because, well my name sucks and with all the names and characters I've created, I can't even think of a good pseudonym for myself). I am finishing up my degree in graphic design this fall, work part time at the college bookstore and am a partner in the OneNexus corporation; a business in which we do, among other things, web design. I wish we had our site up, but my partner got us involved in some things before we could solidify that, so soon!
I am rather new to writing, even though I've wanted to do it forever. In fact, it was Jericho (SaturnKnight at Newsarama) who really pushed me to writing. Since then, I've won an award for a screenplay/drama at my college's literary magazine. Hoping to win more awards, or get paid, to do what I want to do most, write and share my stories with the world.
I like the idea Nolan's got going here, so we'll see what happens.

Hey Mike.
I think we're trying to keep this as a pretty light place. Well maybe not light but I don't ever want people to think that its intimidating and filled with people who deride you with nasty comments (which has been my experience with a lot of people in other comic creation forums, particularly one of the big ones which shall remain nameless).
And I think you can see that we're open to just about every kind of sequential storytelling here.
If you wanted to try and adapt one of your novel/screenplay ideas in to comic form, you could do that too. I'm trying to get more screenwriters to think about comics as an outlet for their unsold screenplays.

Mike, what's up, man?
Total non-sequitur, but: Hey, do you still have copies of the lit mag where your script was published...? I think I remember you talking about it over on the Writer's Thread, and I wanted to get a copy.
So what are you working on now? Novel and screenplay?
Dave

Dave I do, man I totally forgot about sending you one. Hit me with your address and I'll have it out with another batch that needs to go out. As to what I'm working on, atm a screenplay, but both really. I just haven't had much time to dedicate to writing because of how busy I am.

We're about to gear up to shoot our second short film, which will also be the first of our Whiskey, Gun, Cigarette anthology. We've cast it, and we're filming on September 12th. And anyone who still wants to try their hand at a WGC script is stilllll welcome.

Yeah, I'm terrible at remembering stuff like that, and then when it comes time to mail stuff out, I'm usually broke. A lot of guys from the UK wanted a copy of the book and I just haven't gotten around to doing those up and sending them out. Did I have your address?

OK, emailed both of you. Anyone else can see the basic guidelines here: www.habitformingfilms.com/wgc.htmWe're gonna shoot my first script, "THe Long Road" on September 12th. I've cast a couple of really good actors, and Jeremy is directing the piece. It's gonna be a cool like noir short -- actually, I posted it in the writer's thread a while back, so you guys may have seen it. It's about two brothers who have killed their father...? I added a scene to it, but it's basically the same piece.
