I guess I posted my request for an artist in the wrong forum, because there's a million replies to this and none to mine! Or... Maybe I suck. Don't worry jayvee, most of it is GeneticFreak and I going back and forth about that damned e-mail.

Thank you, Dave. I love saying that, I sound like HAL. Yes, I did that website myself. I'm not happy with the temp covers , but this whole endeavor has been a whirlwind (today I spent 8 hours answering mail and pimping the site), and I just wanted to have some pictures as soon as possible to give something else than the scripts. I will replace the covers as soon as I have art from the pencillers. Response has been great (REALLY great), so I hope that's soon. As the site kind of explains, the goal it to submit the stories to independent publishers. Besides the obvious advantages, it saves a lot of time and let's me concentrate on creating, not publishing and promoting. However, if I'm confident enough on the products and my availability, I might try the self-publishing route for some projects. It that happens, I'll invest some money and go for the Diamond approach probably. And now really off to bed. The website is well designed. Very nice. And I honestly like the temp covers -- well, the design, including the pull quote and the nice use of negative space. I understand the main image will be subsituted by imagery by the artist, but still -- it's a nice clean design that's got a uniform dress. As far as seeking out traditional publishers -- are you insistent that FLAX and your design is part of the package? I could see that being a turn off for some publisher -- and at best, it's not necessary. As the publisher, they often to want to develop the line and/or the look of the book. Not to say it doesn't make a great presentation -- I just wonder if the move could be misconstrued (assuming you're going to present the work to publishers as such). Well whatever the case, I think you've put together a nice presentation, and I think you'll draw in artists and hopefully publishers with the professionalism. So I wish you best of luck on your endeavor. And having read some of your pieces on Newsarama, I know you've got some solid content as well. Dave

No, Flax Comics won't be part of the package due to exactly what you say. Well whatever the case, I think you've put together a nice presentation, and I think you'll draw in artists and hopefully publishers with the professionalism. I probably said this before, but I'm impressed with the talent that has joined Flax Comics so far. Also, it's a very enthusiastic group of creators, and that makes me really confident on the endeavor. About drawing publishers, that's phase two. There's a marketing plan to follow. So I wish you best of luck on your endeavor. And having read some of your pieces on Newsarama, I know you've got some solid content as well. You and many other have been extremely supportive of my work, and it really makes everything seem simpler. Thank you.

Flax, I'm gonna be gone for a week, but when I get back I'll have the lettering for you. Sorry, my life just turned hectic. I've been quite sick for a few weeks, but this past week and a half it's gotten really bad, I'm only on because I slept long enough I don't feel like I'm gonna pass out or anything <fun> It's just hard to stand up and do normal tasks, so I'm doing my art bit by bit. I'll hopefully have the little sequence done for you when I get back.
